Downshift

Beginning October 1, I will be officially slowing down on blogposts. If you’ve been checking regularly, the frequency of my postings has already been considerably smaller in recent weeks. I’m overwhelmed with life.
So, as I’ve been telling some of my offline friends, I will be downshifting significantly—and converting this blog into more of an online depository of my papers and public presentations and occasionally others’. Since my area of research and teaching is Adventist studies, you can expect my future postings to be primarily on Adventist history and theology—in varying degrees of depth and scholarship—with a sprinkling of other issues related to religion.
Happy October!
I’ll miss your interlogues and commentary, but completely understand that need to redirect your energy. Great chatting with you at the conference. See you at AAR.
Comment by Alexander 09.30.07 @ 11:16 pmThanks, Julius, for your work on P.A.–one of my “must-read” blogs. Though at times in life, you definitely have to “downshift,” I’m happy you’re maintaining a presence here. All the best in your work at LL.
Comment by Ken McFarland 10.01.07 @ 10:14 amI am so glad that you’re making a tough choice like this in order to maintain a healthy life. Thanks for all you give to us. I think posting your public presentations and papers will satisfy those of us who don’t get to hear you in the classroom. It was great fun to see you at Ad. Forums both in your stage and real-life forms.
See you at Andrews for QOD.
Comment by Lisa Diller 10.01.07 @ 7:10 pmOh dear…
On the upside, at least i no longer have to feel guilty at the infrequency of my own posting!
What happened to the Samuel Koranteng-Pipim interview?
Comment by Hobbes 10.01.07 @ 11:34 pmAppreciate all your comments. I’ll be looking forward to seeing you at QOD conference, Lisa, at ASRS/AAR, Alex, and continually online, Ken and Hobbes.
Wish all of you well in your ongoing ministries.
Comment by Julius 10.02.07 @ 3:58 pmMy guess is that after the QOD conference, Thanksgiving and Christmas, you will be back in full force! Thank-you for your thought provoking, and sometimes just plain provoking, website!
Comment by David Vickman 10.02.07 @ 7:46 pmGreat new look for the site. Thanks for all your work on this blog and keeping us up to date with the latest and best in Adventist theology/thought.
Comment by Zane 10.03.07 @ 11:57 amI’m sorry to see this change but I know it’s probably a sane decision for you. Hope that “real life” thing works out well.
