I think a similar thing is happening in both the right and the left wings of Adventism—a much less partisan and more communitarian next generation of conservatives and liberals. Will that new centrism spawned yet another swing toward polarization in the following generation? No. I believe that with the increase of globalization and the seeds of hatred being sown in Iraq against Americans, the new and major polarization of the next ten to fifteen years is going to be between “centrist” (99% of the worlds population) and radical fundamentalist Islam. We may see a minority of conservatives swing into sympathy with radical Islam and themselves become radical as a rebuttal to the 99% they see that have loosened up way to much.
